| AUGUSTA, Maine - On Saturday, Jan. 28, the winners of the annual Frank J. Gaziano High School Lineman Awards will be announced, as well as the four runners-up. The winners will each receive $5,000 in scholarships and the runners-up will each receive $1,000 in scholarships. The awards and scholarships make the Gaziano Awards the largest high school scholarship of its kind in the country. The event is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the Augusta Civic Center. The awards portion of the event will be broadcast live on the internet starting at 1 p.m. at www.munzingmediasports.com/gaziano-award. Gaziano, founder of National Distributors, Inc. and a former college All-American and professional football player with a lifelong passion for local sports. The awards are presented to student-athletes who epitomize the character, leadership, and perseverance of Gaziano, and who are selected by the awards committee based on their strong leadership on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.
